Pantone declared “Apricot Crush” 2024’s Color of the Year, and I don’t know about you, but I am HERE FOR IT. Bold, energetic and just plain HAPPY, this color fits right in with the return of all things retro and especially disco. But a color this striking may have you wondering: “How can I use this in an elegant, elevated, timeless way at my event?” Here are some fun ideas Jenny Gump would approve of:
Soft seating is here to stay, folks. While you may envision clean and classic for your dining tables, a lounge setting is a great space to PLAY with color and add some personality! Rich, jewel tone palettes of eggplant and chartreuse pair beautifully with this orange color, and would be STUNNING for a fall wedding! Add touches of gold, such as throw pillows or a gold coffee table, for an ultra-lush vibe!
While I wouldn’t necessarily recommend setting your main dinner table linen in this color, a napkin could offer a place to be creative. Think lavish fabrics, such as velvet, tied in a knot or wrapped around the charger plate.
While you could totally go all-in on Apricot Crush as your main color for a very bold and modern aesthetic, I think the key to using Apricot Crush successfully with flowers is to think of it as the “Best Supporting Color” to more traditional shades, such as pink and white. For a romantic yet colorful style, you could pair beautiful orange roses with white ranunculus, and light and dark pink peonies for a “sunset” palette, or purple calla lilies for a contemporary chic style.
If the thought of an orange invitation has you breaking out in hives, smaller details, such as your envelope liner, response card envelope or belly bands, offer little surprise pops of color that pack a juicy punch.
